SHIN-TRUTH

No deciet, pure hearted and and a right mind is what we strive for for a true shooting. Expressions such as ''as straight as an arrow'' and ''a true shot never misses'' can be used to showcase truthful shooting. Seeking answers by devoting every shot to getting closer to the truth can be seen as a greater purpose to kyudo.

ZEN-GOODNESS

Rei(Courtesy), Fuso(non-confrontation) and compassion are qualities we strive for in kyudo. To achieve this we want to always stay calm and not lose our composure. These aspects of common courtesy are for not only in kyudo practice, but also outside. To bond, and associate with others with an absence of hostility are to not only discipline ourselves. This is a crucial idea when practicing kyudo.

BI-BEAUTY

Not only apprecited visually, beauty is present in the previous two concepts-shin and zen. This can be shown through the Sharei(shooting ceremony). The rythmical movemnnts and awareness in everything we do, a result from a calm mind.
